Merzouga Adventure 3 Days In The Sahara

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech City - Tichka Pass - Telouat Kasbah - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Skoura - Rose Valley - Dades Gorges :

• Morning : We will pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech. then driving to the the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’tichka pass. This road offers breathtaking views of rugged mountain landscapes and Berber villages.your first stop at Ait Benhaddou to visit this UNESCO World Heritage site, a famous ksar (fortified village) that has appeared in many movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Explore its narrow alleys and climb to the top for panoramic views over the surrounding desert.

• Afternoon : Continue driving through the scenic Ouarzazate region. Known as the "Gateway to the Sahara," Ouarzazate is home to the famous Atlas Film Studios. you can enjoy your lunch here or in roadside café in Ouarzazate after an  optionally visit the studio or the Taourirt Kasbah to learn more about this region’s cinematic history. Lunch at a local restaurant or roadside café in Ouarzazate, offering traditional Moroccan cuisine. then depart for Dades Gorges. The road leads through beautiful valleys and traditional Berber villages. The Dades Valley is known for its dramatic gorges and rock formations, offering a picturesque landscape.
• Evening : Arrive at Dades Gorges. Check-in at a traditional hotel.you will have your dinner at your accommodation, featuring local Moroccan dishes. Overnight will be at a hotel with a view of the gorges. You can relax and enjoy the tranquility of the area.

Day 2 : Dades Gorges - Tinghir - Arfoud - Merzouga Desert :

• Morning : After your breakfast at your accommodation, start driving to Merzouga. The journey takes you through several small Berber villages along the way. your first stop at Tinejdad, a charming village famous for its palm groves and ancient irrigation systems. You’ll have a short break to stretch your legs and explore.
• Afternoon : Continue driving towards Erfoud, which is known for its fossil industry and desert architecture. You will have your lunch at a traditional restaurant in Erfoud or on the road. Try the local specialty, Medfouna (a type of stuffed pastry), or a classic Moroccan tajine. Continue your drive towards Merzouga, crossing the desert terrain and seeing the first hints of the famous Sahara dunes. Arrive in Merzouga, where the camel trek begins.
• Evening : Begin your camel trek to the desert camp. the camels will carry you through the golden sand dunes of the sahara, offering incredible views as the sun starts to set, which is the best part of the day. after your arriving at the desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with traditional Berber hospitality. after you will enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner under the starry sky around a campfire. your overnight will be in a traditional Berber tent or under the stars in the desert. The silence and the stars make for a peaceful night.

Day 3 : Merzouga Desert -  Rissani - Ouarzazate City- Hight Atlas - Marrakech :

• Morning : Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes—a serene and beautiful moment to start your day. then enjoying your breakfast at the desert camp, featuring Moroccan pancakes. after your breakfast you’ll board your vehicle for the next leg of your journey which is Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region. you will stop at Rissani, where you can visit the local market, a lively spot where nomadic desert tribes and Berber villagers come to sell their goods. then contnue to city of ouarzazate where you will enjoy you lunch and visiting the Atlas Film Studio ( Optional ) is a must to visit place in Ouarzazate. Some of the big blockbusters have been filmed here.
• Evening : Continue your drive towards Marrakech, passing through Tizi N'tichka Pass in the hight Atlas Mountains. After your arrive in Marrakech we will drop you off at your hotel or directly to the airport.
