Journey Through Morocco 7 Days From Marrakech To Merzouga

Overview

Starting in Marrakech and ending in Fes, our tour including Marrakesh , exploring desert of merzouga , visit fas and Casablanca. The tour will start from Marrakesh towards the south, passing the High Atlas mountain range through the Tizi N'tichka Pass, then the picturesque desert of Merzouga, then ending with an exploration in the city of fes.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech - Skhirat - Rabat :

  • Morning : Depart from Marrakech after breakfast. Head out on the N9 highway towards Skhirat. Stop at Skhirat Beach for a 30-minute break. Take a walk along the beach and capture some scenic photos of the coastline and fisherman boats.Enjoy a quick coffee or tea at a beachside café.
  • Afternoon : Depart for Rabat. Arrive in Rabat, check in to your hotel. Lunch at a local restaurant serving harira soup and mechoui (slow-cooked lamb). Visit Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.Explore the historical significance of this royal tomb and see the unfinished minaret. Visit the Kasbah of the Udayas and its gardens.Walk through the narrow alleys of the Kasbah, explore the blue and white buildings, and enjoy views of the river and ocean.
  • Evening : Dinner at a traditional Moroccan restaurant in the Medina. Try pastilla (pigeon pie) and tagine. Free time to relax at the hotel or explore the Mohammed V Avenue for shopping or a night walk. Stay in Rabat.

Day 2 :Rabat - Sidi Allal Behraoui - Oued Lkel - Kharouba - Fes

  • Morning : After breakfast, depart from Rabat. Stop at Sidi Allal Behraoui. Take a short break and enjoy a local café for a quick drink. Continue towards Oued Lkel, stopping for scenic views of the river and rural surroundings.
  • Afternoon : Stop at Kharouba to capture photos of the agricultural lands and Berber villages. Lunch at a roadside restaurant. Enjoy a traditional Berber couscous with vegetables. Depart for Fes. Arrive in Fes, check in to your hotel.
  • Evening : Dinner in the Fes Medina at a local restaurant, offering dishes like lamb tagine with prunes or vegetable couscous. Take a stroll around the old city of Fes or relax at your hotel. Stay in Fes.

Day 3 :Full-Day Tour of Fes :

  • Morning : Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your guide for a city tour of Fes.Visit the Fes el-Bali Medina: Explore the bustling markets, narrow alleys, and stunning architecture. Visit Al-Qarawiyyin University (the oldest university in the world), Bou Inania Madrasa, and Chouara Tannery for a unique view of the leather-dying process.
  • Afternoon : Lunch in the Medina, enjoy briouates (Moroccan pastries) and tagine. Visit the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and the Fes Royal Palace.Explore Borj Nord for panoramic views of the Medina and surrounding areas.Continue to the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) and visit Aben Danan Synagogue.
  • Evening : Dinner at a high-end restaurant featuring Mechoui (roast lamb) or pastilla. Explore the Fes Night Market or visit a local Moroccan cafe to try mint tea. Stay in Fes.

Day 4 :Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Rissani - Merzouga

  • Morning : Breakfast at your hotel. Depart from Fes towards Ifrane. Arrive in Ifrane and visit Dayet Aoua Lake for beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains.stop for a coffee at a local café.
  • Afternoon : Depart for Midelt, a charming town located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Lunch at a restaurant in Midelt, try beef tagine with vegetables.Continue towards Rissani, visiting the local market famous for dates and pottery.
  • Evening : Arrive in Merzouga and check into your desert camp. Take a camel ride into the desert dunes to watch the sunset. Traditional Berber dinner at the camp, with lamb tajine, flatbread, and mint tea. Stay at a desert camp in Merzouga.

Day 5 :4x4 Desert Tour in Merzouga

  • Morning : Sunrise camel ride to witness the desert's changing colors at dawn. Return to the camp for breakfast.then start another 4x4 Desert Tour: Explore the surrounding desert landscapes and visit Khamlia, a village known for Gnawa music. Visit a Nomadic Berber family in the dunes to learn about their lifestyle and traditions.
  • Afternoon : Lunch in a desert oasis with traditional Moroccan salads and lamb couscous. Visit the Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum, the founder of the Alawite dynasty.
  • Evening : Return to the camp via camel ride, capturing photos of the sunset. Enjoy a traditional Berber feast, followed by entertainment with Berber music around a campfire. at the desert camp in Merzouga.

Day 6 :Merzouga - Rissani - N'Kob - Tinghir - Dades Gorges

  • Morning : Breakfast at the desert camp. Depart for Dades Gorges. Stop at Rissani, explore the souks, where you can buy fresh dates, spices, and handcrafted pottery.
  • Afternoon : Continue through the Tinghir area, known for its palm oasis.Visit Todgha Gorges, a dramatic series of canyons perfect for hiking or photography. Lunch in Tinghir, enjoy a Moroccan salad and tagine.
  • Evening : Arrive at Dades Gorges, check in to your hotel. Dinner at your hotel, featuring grilled meats, vegetable couscous, and mint tea. Stay in Dades Gorges.

Day 7 :Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Hight Atlas - Marrakech

  • Morning : Breakfast at the guesthouse. Depart from Dades Gorges and head towards Ouarzazate.
  • Mid-Morning: Arrive at Ouarzazate, visit Kasbah Amridil in Skoura. Continue to Ait Benhaddou for a visit to this famous UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Afternoon : Lunch in Ait Benhaddou. Continue towards Marrakech via Tichka Pass, with scenic stops along the way.
  • Evening : Arrive in Marrakech, check in to your hotel or head directly to the airport.
